Unique Student Identifier

What is a USI and why do I need one?

USI stands for Unique Student Identifier. It is a reference number that creates a secure online record of your nationally recognised training and qualifications completed in Australia.

Under the Unique Student Identifiers Act 2014, all students undertaking nationally recognised training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) must have a valid USI. Without a USI, an RTO cannot issue a qualification or statement of attainment.

Students must provide their USI at the time of enrolment. If you do not yet have a USI, you can create one online. For more information about USIs and how to create one, please visit the official USI website:
https://www.usi.gov.au/

St Peter Institute may assist students to create their USI during enrolment or orientation if required.

If you provide the Institute with a copy of your USI transcript, whether in hard copy or electronic format, the Institute will not share the transcript without your permission.

Students may also grant the Institute permission to search or verify their USI number where required for enrolment and reporting purposes.

Please note that if you are only studying an ELICOS course, you are not required to have a USI.
